Creative Assembly, the strategy game giant and creator of Total War, and publisher SEGA have announced a new game: Hyenas. Hyenas is a team-based shooter, tasking players will robbing high-tech vaults on massive space freighters and then escaping the scene of the crime.
In concept, Hyenas is battle royale adjacent, drawing from Apex Legends and Hunt: Showdown. Each match has 15 players, split into 3 teams of 5. Players also have to contend with NPC enemies and security systems. Since the game takes place in space, some areas are in zero gravity. Others have a zero gravity switch, allowing players to get the upper hand on enemies… or get themselves in a whole lot of trouble. The goal is to pick up as much loot as possible, but rather than money or precious metals, the loot is made of pop culture artifacts. A Sonic figurine, a Rubrik’s Cube, and various New York City related memorabilia all make an appearance in Hyenas’ debut trailer.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is crossing over to PC via Steam next month, bringing with it several updates that will also be available on the PlayStation editions of the game. The Steam edition of the game and its big update will be available on September 27, and adds a New Game+ mode, more Charmstones to collect, the Spirit Guide Trials game mode, an enhanced photo mode, and more.
New Game+ will allow players to restart the adventure with all of their unlocked abilities and gear, but the world will be redesigned to create a more challenging experience. The new game mode, Spirit Trials, adds a variety of replayable challenges across obstacle, wave defense, and boss reflect-themed challenges.

Konami has ended its contract with soccer player Antoine Griezmann after a controversial video appeared to show him and his teammate Ousmane Dembele mocking an Asian staff member while in Japan. As reported by ESPN, Griezmann, who plays for Barcelona, was an ambassador for Yu-Gi-Oh–both the card game and the anime for Konami.
The video was recorded by Dembele in 2019 during Barcelona’s tour of Japan and appears to show both players laughing at technicians attempting to fix a hotel TV. Griezmann does not speak in the video but Dembele makes racist comments about the hotel staff to him. Both are laughing during the video.
Konami said in an official statement, “Konami Digital Entertainment believes, as is the philosophy of sports, that discrimination of any kind is unacceptable. We had announced Griezmann as our Yu-Gi-Oh! content ambassador, however in light of recent events we have decided to cancel the contract.”

Smilegate’s recently released PC game Lost Ark continues to soar on Steam, recently surpassing 1.3 million concurrent players on its way to becoming Steam’s second most-popular game of all time based on player numbers.
Lost Ark is also only the fifth game ever to pass 1 million concurrent players on Steam, the others being Cyberpunk 2077, Dota 2, CS: Go, and PUBG, according to SteamDB. Lost Ark reached a peak concurrent player record of 1.325 million to become Steam’s second-biggest game ever. It now only trails PUBG, which reached an astonishing 3.25 million peak concurrent players years ago.
Following its early access launch for people who bought the founder’s pack, Lost Ark released officially for everyone as a free-to-play game on February 11 with some notable fixes at launch. The release was delayed slightly, but did eventually release that day.
